Tom Lambrecht
My name is Tom Lambrecht and I’ve been a Director for the
Canon City Area Fire Protection District Board since 2022. My
spouse and I moved from Missouri to the Colorado Front Range
foothills in 1999. In 2020, I retired from my position as Assistant
Director of the Nederland Community Library and we moved to
Canon City. We love it here.
Over the last three decades, I’ve had the pleasure of serving on
the boards of the following CO organizations: the Gilpin County
Public Library (Secretary); Mountain Family Health Centers in
Glenwood Springs (Vice-Chairman); Peak to Peak Forest Watch in
Nederland (Treasurer and patroller) and the Greater Rollinsville
Community Association (President and trustee).
Unfortunately, wildland fire is a risk factor of mountain living and
I worked with the community and forest watch groups in
collaboration with our local fire districts to mitigate that threat. I
coordinated wildfire education events for mountain residents in
Gilpin and Boulder Counties and administered state and Federal
matching grants for local homeowner defensible space.
My time with the above entities has strengthened my
understanding of effective governance and the tough balancing
act between quality of service and fiscal responsibility. I strive to
bring what I’ve learned to our Fire Protection District.
